A fuel union part is an important joint to supply fuel into a V type engine installed in a highest class automobile. It demands highly corrosion resistance to fuel. In the past, two pieces of free cutting stainless steel for the pipe and carbon steel for the flange were welded. But such method remained productivity and cost issues.

To overcome the problem, we focused on NSSC 160R which has superior cold forging characteristic with inherent corrosion resistance, and succeed in development of one molding process for the first time in this field. The new fuel union part is made from a large cross section wire rod by one molding process, and then machined to make a hole and screw.
