The higher the “PREN value” of steel, which are indicators of Cr, Mo, and N, the better the pitting resistance.

Duplex stainless steel has excellent stress corrosion cracking resistance (SCC resistance) in a chloride environment. The limit temperature of SCC for S31803 and SUS329J4L is higher than that of austenitic Type316L.
